Pink Cosmo

Products Used: Paper by DCWV Rockstar Collection Mat Stack and 8x8 pages. The sentiment and digi were a freebie pack but I'm not remembering where from. I printed the tag onto brown card stock and used a shiny ribbon from my stash. The image was painted with water colors and the olives and circle were bling-ed out with diamond dust. The Papers were all distressed with the x-acto blade.

It's not easy for me to stick with ONE color when I am scrapping - especially when making cards. I saw the Paper Romance challenge blog had a "pink and bling" challenge and right away thought of my mom! She LOVES pink.. it's her favorite color. She even loves drinking the bright pink cosmos when were out because of their gorgeous color :)

I wanted to make her a card before I left and jumped on this opportunity... especially once I found these digi's!! hehee

Here is a close up of the bling-ed out circle, olives, and paper:
Challenges Entered:
Friday Sketch - Sketch (This was AWESOME!!)
Fab N Funky - fav color(s) (Used my mom's fav since it's her card - PINK!)
Crafty Sentiments Digital Designs - Distressing (used on all paper edges)
Paper Romance Challenge Blog - Pink and Bling (Tons of PINK and bling on olives, paper, and circle)

Sending Bear Hugs!

Products Used: Paper by Basicgrey and Making memories. Pearls by Zva Creative. Flowers were in my stash which I added small buttons and diamond dust. Paper Lace was created using flower border punch by Martha Stewart. The Sentiment was a freebie from Raindrop Echo Designs and the bear was a freebie from Wendy Made. Charm was printed using a Kraft color paper and the image was colored with art colored pencils.

This card will be another Thank You card for the ladies in the office ... It's Wednesday morning and I only have two done! YIKES!

I followed a color combination of Kraft, yellow, and white for this card as well as a sketch and recipe!! I think that is the hardest three things to incorporate as they all limit my choices so much!! But I am looking at the card now and really liking the way it turned out - it looks so classy and pretty. This is going to be great for one particular woman in the office who has the personality and character to match the beauty of this card!

Challenges entered:
Design Dollies - Kraft, White, and Yellow (tough but accomplished)
Basicgrey Challenges - Pearls (under the flowers)
Paper Play - 2DPs, 3flowers, 1ribbon, 1charm - (Again, tough but I did it!!)

It's a girl thing!

Products Used: Martha Stewart star edge punch, Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peeled Paint, Papers by Creative Memories, We R Memory Keepers (White Out Collection), and Sassafras (Sweet Marmalade Collection), Stamp is 80s Kaylee by Some Odd Girl, and the butterfly and gems are from my stash.

This post feels a little rushed this morning since it's going to be a BUSY BUSY day, and I have to get moving to leave within the hour :)

I made this card... well I'm not really sure what it will become. But I just won this stamp off the Fab N Funky challenge from last week and I LOVED it so much I just HAD to use it!! It's a digi and what's neat about digis is being able to resize them to any size I want. I will def be playing around with that feature this weekend :)

A couple challenges out there are using your "favorites" this week as inspiration. My favorites change along with my mood (so pretty constant hehehe). I have always loved stars - a little obsessed - and I really enjoy teal and lime green this summer.

I edged all my papers in Tim Holtz lime green peeled paint distress ink and used a lot of bright colors to go along with 80s Kaylee being all dressed up in her outfit. The card is so fun and girly that I feel it'll make a good teen b-day card some day. Who knows.

Hangin'

WOW! It's been WAY too long since I've gotten to scrap... thanks to my last two weeks before the move I picked up CRAZY hours at work and all my other free time is spent with EVERYONE I know so they can get last minute time with me. No complaints though :) I'm having a BLAST! But it's good-old friday meaning no work and all day to scrap. Plus tonight going to Olive Garden with my family for dinner - yummmm.

First, before I get on to my newest LO, I would like to mention some delicious stuff going on out in the blog world
1. Imaginisce blog is giving away an AWESOME prize over at their blog. Check it out HERE! The best part is there are MULTIPLE ways to win, and this is my third entry!! :)

2. Cathy is giving away an awesome candy. Enter to win by going HERE. This candy has products from the secret crafter and Instyle Stamps.

3. Simon Says stamp is also giving away some Trinket Pins, yummy!!

And now onto my LO for the morning :)
Here is one I did for a picture of my closest friends and I enjoying a fun summer day with volleyball and BBQ!

Products Used: Papers are from Bella Bella by Carina Gardener, Creative Memories, and Colorbok. The butterflies were made using the 3D butterfly tutorial I've shared before with my martha stewart butterfly punch and some shiny paper and acetate. The letters are by BoBunny - Love Bandit combo sticker sheet. I made the purple crystal swirls with acetate and puffy paint. The banner was also hand made by cutting triangles into purple scraps and stitching some shiny thread through the edges.

Here is a close up of the butterflies and purple sparkly swirl (above)

(Below) A close up of the very simple banner I created.

The LO turned out very simple, but I have a tough time following simple sketches. I tend to add so many embellies and papers to my LOs, that it was nice to make something so different from my usual. I am satisfied with the final product :)

Challenges entered:
The Scraproom blog - Elements that POP! (butterflies and banner)
Design Dollies: Element 1 for August - Friends! (my awesome picture)
Design Dollies: Sketch Challenge (tough but I did it!)
Design Dollies: Color Challenge - Olive Green, Cream, Purple (PURPLE!? I actually had a tough time finding purple in my stash... weird huh!?)

Thanks for looking :)

July 4th

Products Used: Paper by We R Memory Keepers - White out collection in Frenzy, The star paper is from my stash and I don't remember who made it, Letters by Deja Views, Lace was made with white paper and a Martha Stewart punch, I made the sparkly green crystal swirls with puffy paint and acetate.

Here is a close up of the sparkly green crystal swirl and the letters I layered over top with mounting squares. I fussy cut the frenzy paper to get the circle of flowers and squares.

Here is another close up. You can see the lace I made with the border punch and the fun letters by Deja Views. The rest of my title - "QUEEN" - is done the same as the above part.

The colors were really pulled from the dress my one friend is wearing - the one in the middle. She had that gorgeous embroidered flower pattern with the bright teals, yellows, and greens. As soon as I pulled out this picture I knew I wanted to use the frenzy page :) It matches so well and kind of gets away from the original "red, white, and blue" of July 4th LOs. I loved this picture soooo much. It was a beautiful sunny day on a river boat cruise. Once we were done filling our bellies with delicious food, and slowed down on our wine consumption - hehehehe - the boat pulled right under the line of fire for the fireworks!! We got to see the whole show from the boat's roof top :) It was absolutely wonderful! Plus I got to spend the evening with the greatest girls in my life!

Girl Friends

Products Used
Papers: We R Memory Keepers - White out collection - Nonsense Zig Zag, Recollections - Friends Forever Collection - My Clique, and Bella Bella by Carina Gardner
Stamps/Inks: Stampendous - Mini Paisley Texture Cube, Hampton Art - Beautiful Butterfly, Tim Holtz distress ink - Broken china and Walnut Stain, Staz On - purple, and Color box - lime green.
Punches: Martha Stewert - butterfly and simple scallope.
Embellies: Sentiment by Creative Memories, crystal swirls handmade with glitter glue, Twinklets Diamond Dust, and gems by me&my big ideas and Bead Party.

This is a semi long post due to the massive amounts of pictures since this LO has a TON of detail ... so hang in there!!

I did this LO of a picture from a couple months ago at a local festival for a town we grew up in (we being the two girls in the picture hehehe). This is my BEST FRIEND. We literally have known each other since the first day of kindergarden :) Which is why I was soooo excited about the paper being from the Friends Forever collection!!

Here (ABOVE) is a close up of the sentiment from Creative Memories. You can also see the Diamond Dust, distressing, and circle border I created. I stamped the circles with Broken China by Tim Holtz then stamped mini paisley all over the one side, that way when I folded the edges the bright blue peaks in to match with the teal in the paper :) There is a tutorial, HERE, to show you how to do the circle border - it's SUPER easy and looks really neat on LOs.

Below is another close up of the circle border that shows the inking better. You can also see the butterfly (a previous post had the tutorial on it on how to make the 3D butterfly) and the butterflies I did with the martha stewart punch. I just added gems and made crystal swirls using my silver glitter glue and acetate. Now the butterflies have more of a "flying" effect. The border made with Martha Stewart's simple scallop is shown nicely in the picture too - it's so simple but becoming one of my faves very quickly!!

The final picture for this post - yes promise your coming to the end! :) - is of the butterfly in the top corner of the page, I feel like this was a nice picture to add since the butterfly was in a good light spot and the crystal swirl seems to sparkle!

I added a touch of purple to the paper BEFORE I stamped the lime green butterfly. This is the only one I did like that, the other two butterflies in green are just solid green, but this one turned out to have a neat tie-dye effect that blends all the colors on this LO beautifully!! I liked the effect so much that you can bet I'll be experimenting with more color combinations in the future

Well that completes this LO!! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I do!! I can't WAIT for my girlfriend to see it - I think she'll be floored :)

Rock Concert!

Even though I post A LOT of cards, I did delve into scrap booking about 5 1/2 yrs ago. I did a scrap book that was four years in the making to document my entire college experience. Though it was A TON of work, I really enjoyed having it after I graduated to look back on all the dumb stuff I did with my friends during those AMAZING four years :)

I have since been working on two scrapbooks: 1 for my sister-in-law as a baby gift for my future niece/nephew and 1 of my summer since graduating and before graduate school starts (and my big move 6 hours south!!)

I have been making SO many cards this summer with all the cool competitions I have had the opportunity to enter, that I have gotten quite behind in my LO's of the summer :)

Well Sundays are AWESOME b/c I get to sleep in - I actually slept till 8am!! hehehehe, WHAT!? I'm a morning person :) Can't help it. Anyways, the house is empty except for the dog and I which means turn on some music and scrap away!! (Then out for girl's night, yay!!)

So today I went back a couple months to a picture that was taken of my FABULOUS girlfriends and I at a concert. I love this picture b/c of LOVE LOVE LOVE my girlies plus the colors are so bright!

Products Used: Creative Memories black alphas in Swirly, Papers by DCWV - The Rock Star Stack, Creative Memories Make a Wish collection, and other papers from my stash that I no longer remember who made them :/, Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China (quickly becoming my fav distress ink), and Silver Marker extra fine point by Pilot.

Below is a close up of the Rock Star page I did some fussy cutting technique on. I used a pair of scissors to cut passed all the blue and cut out the guitar. Then I took my x-acto blade and cut out all the middle pieces to really leave behind mostly just the foil work. I loved the way this turned out and that it cascades over the picture.

Here is another close up of the bottom part of the LO. You can see the awesome alphas by Creative Memories, and the way the Pilot marker turns out sooooo sparkly!! (Or maybe this picture doesn't show it that well - but in person it looks GREAT) I also cut out all these stars by hand - so they're all a little different - and attached them with mounting squares to give the LO dimension. The blue paper is folded to give it a pleated look and more dimension added to the LO. I distressed the edges with the x-acto blade and inked the pleats and edges with Broken China distress ink for more blue color.
Thanks for taking a look! I love the final look, I think it turned out so bright and cheery, which really captures the day we had in the picture :)
