Even though I post A LOT of cards, I did delve into scrap booking about 5 1/2 yrs ago. I did a scrap book that was four years in the making to document my entire college experience. Though it was A TON of work, I really enjoyed having it after I graduated to look back on all the dumb stuff I did with my friends during those AMAZING four years :)
I have since been working on two scrapbooks: 1 for my sister-in-law as a baby gift for my future niece/nephew and 1 of my summer since graduating and before graduate school starts (and my big move 6 hours south!!)
I have been making SO many cards this summer with all the cool competitions I have had the opportunity to enter, that I have gotten quite behind in my LO's of the summer :)
Well Sundays are AWESOME b/c I get to sleep in - I actually slept till 8am!! hehehehe, WHAT!? I'm a morning person :) Can't help it. Anyways, the house is empty except for the dog and I which means turn on some music and scrap away!! (Then out for girl's night, yay!!)
So today I went back a couple months to a picture that was taken of my FABULOUS girlfriends and I at a concert. I love this picture b/c of LOVE LOVE LOVE my girlies plus the colors are so bright!
Products Used: Creative Memories black alphas in Swirly, Papers by DCWV - The Rock Star Stack, Creative Memories Make a Wish collection, and other papers from my stash that I no longer remember who made them :/, Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Broken China (quickly becoming my fav distress ink), and Silver Marker extra fine point by Pilot.
Below is a close up of the Rock Star page I did some fussy cutting technique on. I used a pair of scissors to cut passed all the blue and cut out the guitar. Then I took my x-acto blade and cut out all the middle pieces to really leave behind mostly just the foil work. I loved the way this turned out and that it cascades over the picture.
Here is another close up of the bottom part of the LO. You can see the awesome alphas by Creative Memories, and the way the Pilot marker turns out sooooo sparkly!! (Or maybe this picture doesn't show it that well - but in person it looks GREAT) I also cut out all these stars by hand - so they're all a little different - and attached them with mounting squares to give the LO dimension. The blue paper is folded to give it a pleated look and more dimension added to the LO. I distressed the edges with the x-acto blade and inked the pleats and edges with Broken China distress ink for more blue color. Thanks for taking a look! I love the final look, I think it turned out so bright and cheery, which really captures the day we had in the picture :)
Tata for now!
